Abstract

One of them is holding a flag.Opalchentsi were Bulgarian voluntary army units who took part in the Serbo-Ottoman War in 1876 and in the Russo-Ottoman War in 1877 – 1878. The men in these units were called opalchenets-pobornik, meaning "volunteer combatant". Comment from the Archive: "The parade march is in front of General Nikolai Stoletov".
